    More than 2 million tons of anchovy have already been caught in Peru

> Peru's first north-central anchovy season has passed 2 million metric tons of catch in its first 40 days, about 82% of the 2.475 million-ton quota. Former IMARPE director Luis Icochea said the industrial fleet will likely reach full quota in the coming days. He noted that the fleet takes less than 25% of observable biomass.
