# Itna haor farmers pay up to Tk 200 extra a bag as dealer fertiliser fails to arrive | Agro News Today

> River police in Itna, Kishoreganj, seized a boat carrying 108 bags of BADC DAP fertiliser being smuggled at Elongjuri bazar ghat. Farmers in the haor say dealer supplies are not reaching them as boro land preparation begins, so they are paying Tk 100-200 extra per bag for smuggled DAP.

## Why it matters

Tight local DAP supply and smuggling-driven premiums point to firm regional phosphate demand in Bangladesh during boro season, though the effect on global fertiliser prices is small.
