# The EU Deforestation Regulation: an update and what it means for companies

> The EU voted on 14 November 2024 to back the Commission's proposal to delay the EUDR by one year. The new application dates are 30 December 2025 for large operators and traders and 30 June 2026 for small and micro enterprises. A revised version of the regulation is expected in 2025 to clarify timing and country risk classifications.
