# Canadian farmers face two-front trade war as China duties take effect | Reuters

> China's retaliatory tariffs on Canadian farm and food products, worth over $2.6 billion, took effect March 20. A 100% duty applies to about $1 billion of canola oil, canola meal cakes and peas, and a 25% duty applies to $1.6 billion of aquatic products and pork. Unprocessed canola seed is excluded.
