# Bird flu, screwworm monitoring among foreign aid programs killed by Trump | Agri-Pulse Communications, Inc.

> The Trump administration's cuts to USAID terminated more than 100 US-funded FAO programs worth around $382 million. ## Why it matters

Reduced international animal disease surveillance may slow early detection of outbreaks that could later disrupt trade and supplies. The direct price effect on feed commodities is small in the near term.
