# La Niña event is expected to be short-lived

> The WMO says the weak La Niña that formed in December 2024 is likely to be short-lived. It gives a 60% chance of a shift to ENSO-neutral during March-May 2025, rising to 70% for April-June, and a negligible chance of El Niño developing through June.
