# FAO Food Price Index remains stable in March

> The FAO Food Price Index averaged 127.1 points in March, roughly unchanged from February as cereal and sugar declines offset a rise in vegetable oil prices. The cereal index fell 2.6% on lower wheat, maize, sorghum and rice prices. Vegetable oil prices rose 3.7% on robust import demand for palm, soy, rapeseed and sunflower oils.
