# NDSU report projects rising export costs for U.S. agriculture under new port fees

> An NDSU Agricultural Risk Policy Center report estimates that Section 301 port fees on Chinese-operated or Chinese-built vessels would have added $2.3 billion to shipping costs in 2024, rising to $6.2 billion annually by 2028. The Annex 1 fees alone could cost five to seven cents per bushel on key grain exports.
