# Retail egg prices fall, following declining wholesale prices | Economic Research Service

> USDA's Economic Research Service reported that the average retail egg price fell to $5.12 a dozen in April 2025, more than a dollar below its March peak. Wholesale egg prices dropped to $3.74 a dozen in April from $8.20 in February as demand eased and HPAI confirmations paused.
