# EU Deforestation Regulation: Latest developments and concerns - Lexology

> The EU Commission has issued updated guidance and FAQs, and an implementing regulation that classifies countries by deforestation risk for seven commodities. The rules will apply to medium and large operators from 30 December 2025 and to micro and small enterprises from 30 June 2026.
