# Feed industry urges livestock producers to plan ahead - Farmers Guide

> The UK feed industry has urged livestock producers to plan their feed needs through late spring 2026 because of pressure on supply this autumn. The pressure stems from geopolitical events, a challenging UK harvest and an exceptionally dry summer in some regions. The AIC said the UK imports 46% of its 16 million tonnes of annual raw materials, mainly soya and other protein meals.
