# India’s DAP stocks see a rise heading into October | World Fertilizer

> India began October with about 2.4 million tonnes of DAP in stock, after September imports of 994,000 tonnes exceeded domestic offtake of 967,000 tonnes. Stocks are about 700,000 tonnes higher than a year earlier, following a strong kharif import season of 4 million tonnes. Imports of about 2.2 million tonnes would be needed in October-December to keep stocks steady.
