# Peru increases its second season anchovy quota - WeAreAquaculture

> Peru raised its second-season anchovy quota for the North-Central zone to 1,630,000 metric tonnes, far above the provisional figure from November 1. IFFO says the quota is science-based and that global fishmeal production through September 2025 rose about 8% year on year. Fishmeal use in Chinese aquaculture in 2025 has also exceeded last year's.
