# France expects expansion of key winter crop areas in 2026

> France's Ministry of Agriculture expects winter soft wheat area to rise 2.3% to 4.56 million hectares in 2026, and winter rapeseed area to rise 6.4% to a three-year high. The ministry also raised its 2025 grain corn estimate to 13.6 million tonnes, still 8.4% below last year's record.
