# Ringgit falls out of RM3.90 range after two-month rally [WATCH]

> The ringgit ended a 60-day run below RM4 against the dollar after slipping to RM4 on March 27, reversing an earlier rally to 3.8875 in February. The Iran war, which began March 2, drove the reversal, and Brent was trading at US$109 a barrel. Analysts expect continued dollar upward pressure in the near to medium term.

## Why it matters

A weaker ringgit combined with high Brent raises the cost of imported feed inputs for Malaysian buyers. Elevated crude also supports palm oil biodiesel demand.
