# China restricts fertiliser exports, further crimping war-tightened supply | Reuters

> China has restricted fertiliser exports, banning shipments of nitrogen-potassium blends and certain phosphate varieties in mid-March. Only a handful of products such as ammonium sulphate can now be exported on top of existing urea bans and quotas. Reuters estimates between half and three quarters of China's prior-year exports are now restricted, up to 40 million tons.
