# Dollar edges up against dong on black market

> The dollar rose against the dong on Vietnam's black market while the official Vietcombank rate was unchanged. The dollar index stabilized near 101 as renewed US-Iran tensions lifted oil prices and safe-haven demand. The ECB was expected to hold rates but leave the door open to a September hike.
