# U.S. reopens Mexican cattle imports as Tyson, JBS surge

> Shares of Tyson Foods and JBS jumped after the USDA said it would resume Mexican cattle shipments with a phased reopening starting August 24. JBS rose as much as 9.8% and Tyson gained 7.5%. Mexico previously sent over a million head a year, and the closure had forced packers to pay up for scarce animals.
