# USDA August WASDE Calls for Lower Yields, Higher Harvested Area for Corn and Soybeans | Agriculture of America

> USDA's August WASDE put the 2026 national corn yield at 180.7 bu/ac, down from 183 in July and about two bushels below pre-report expectations. Soybean yield fell to 52.7 bu/ac, and harvested area for both crops rose about one million acres above expectations. New-crop corn stocks fell to 1.653 billion bushels, while soybean stocks rose to 320 million.
