# Wheat shipping costs climb across routes | Feed & Grain

> USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service reported that wheat transportation costs to Japan rose in the second quarter of 2026 on both quarterly and annual bases across all major routes. Kansas-to-Pacific Northwest costs rose 11% quarter on quarter, and North Dakota-to-Pacific Northwest costs rose 10%. Total landed costs reached $317 to $323 per metric ton on the Pacific Northwest routes.
