# COCERAL lowers EU grain output forecast

> COCERAL cuts its EU-27+UK 2026 grain crop forecast to 279 million tonnes, down 8 million from July and well below 2025's 307.4 million. Maize is lowered to 48.6 million tonnes, and the French maize crop is projected at 7.6 million tonnes, the lowest in more than 20 years.
