# Will Poultry Precautions Save Pigs Like It Did Birds in Iowa?

> Iowa officials say 2022 avian influenza losses were far smaller than in 2015, with 19 sites and 13 million birds affected versus 77 sites and 30 million birds. Producers credit improved biosecurity and faster response, which they expect to carry over to ASF planning.
