# Malaysia to reduce palm oil export tax, biodiesel mandate

> Malaysia's plantation ministry and Finance Ministry are in talks to cut the palm oil export tax from 8% to between 4% and 6%, and to reduce the biodiesel mandate, to address the global edible oil shortage. Indonesia's export ban from April 28 pushed crude palm oil prices above RM7,000 per tonne, and April stockpiles rose 11.5% month-on-month.
