# Renewable diesel boom leveling out - Brownfield Ag News

> Clean Fuels Alliance America's economist Jonathan Martin said renewable diesel production and use has grown sharply since 2020, with 2024 a record year for renewable diesel and biodiesel at about 5.1 billion gallons consumed in the US. He projects the boom will level out this year unless EPA changes the renewable fuel volume obligations. About 50% of US soybean oil currently goes into renewable fuels.
