# Brazil 2023/24 second corn crop to hit 96.7 million tons

> Agroconsult forecasts Brazil's 2023/24 second corn crop at 96.7 million tons, down 10.5% from the prior season, due to adverse weather in Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul. Mato Grosso and Goias show good yield potential that partly offsets the losses.

## Why it matters

A smaller Brazilian second-crop corn harvest, mainly exported in the second half of the year, reduces export supply and supports corn prices against competing origins.
