# Brazil Farmers to Reap Record Second Corn Crop

> Agroconsult forecast Brazil's second-crop corn at a record 123.3 million metric tons, about 80% of national output, with harvest underway. The consultancy cited good April and May rains and a 12% yield gain in Mato Grosso. Farmers are concerned about slow sales and weak export prices, with China out of the market.

## Why it matters

A record Brazilian safrinha crop adds heavy export supply that competes with US corn, pressuring corn prices, while slow Chinese and Middle East demand limits offtake.
