# 2025/26 Corn Planting in Brazil to Start Within Weeks

> Some farmers in southern Brazil are expected to start planting 2025/26 summer corn before the end of August, even though the 2024/25 safrinha harvest is not finished. Heavy rain in the south and a wetter-than-normal dry season have improved soil moisture for early planting.

## Why it matters
