# U.S. Midwest forecast spells bad news for corn, soybeans | The Western Producer

> DTN analyst Todd Hultman said a US drought would add to bullish pressure on corn and soybeans, which are already tight due to South American drought, biofuel demand and the Ukraine war. A summer forecast of hot, dry Midwest weather could push prices a dollar or more above record levels. Nutrien's Eric Snodgrass linked a lingering La Niña to the June flash drought.
