# Mild weather, lengthening supply balances weigh on gas market bulls | S&P Global

> US temperatures in October 2021 averaged 66.4 F through the first three weeks, the warmest start to October since at least 2005. Gas-fired heating demand was at its lowest level for that period since 2017, and forecasts showed mild weather continuing with residential-commercial demand possibly hitting record lows. Henry Hub winter futures had fallen about $1 from early October highs.
