> USDA's Grain Transportation Report says US Class I railroads originated 27% more grain carloads over the last 10 weeks than a year earlier. Mississippi River grain shipments to the Gulf reached 8.5 million tons year to date, 53% above last year and the highest since 2003. Bulk ocean freight rates and diesel prices have risen on strong transport demand.
