Malaysia's federal government has formed a special joint committee led by the Primary Industries Ministry to monitor implementation of B20 biodiesel next year. The committee includes the Finance, International Trade and Industry ministries and the Prime Minister's Department, and is also exploring a biodiesel stabilisation fund to contain biofuel prices.
Coordinated oversight of the B20 mandate, due by 2020, supports structural palm oil demand from the biodiesel sector. A stabilisation fund would dampen biofuel price swings when CPO prices rise.
