Bangladesh's state-owned BCIC issued an international tender for 25,000 metric tonnes of rock phosphate, scheduled for delivery in early March 2024 at Chittagong Port, with bids due 6 February 2024. The government also approved purchases of 60,000 tonnes of bulk granular urea from Fertiglobe and SABIC Agri-nutrients.
Sizeable state tenders add concentrated import demand for phosphate and urea, which supports firm pricing in these fertilizers for buyers in a tight market.
