FranceAgriMer reported that French soft wheat planting slowed in the week ending 26 October but remained well ahead of last year, at 68pc of projected area versus 41pc a year earlier. Barley planting and corn harvest progress were also ahead of the previous year.
Early planting and emergence point to normal crop development, which limits near-term supply concerns and keeps wheat prices under little pressure from this report.
