Argus cut its 2026 French soft wheat forecast to 30.80 million tonnes from 32.29 million in June, based on a survey of cooperatives from July 13 to 17. The estimate assumes an average yield of 6.67 t/ha, 6.5% below the 10-year average, and harvesting is now nearly complete.
A forecast 1.2 million tonnes below the ministry's estimate signals a tighter French wheat supply, supporting European and world wheat prices for feed buyers.
