Nine trade associations asked EPA to propose and finalize robust 2026 Renewable Fuel Standard volumes by the November statutory deadline. They say the 2023-2025 volumes caused a steep drop in RIN values, leading to plant closures.
The groups warn this threatens feedstock processing and sustainable aviation fuel investment.
Stronger 2026 RFS volumes would expand mandated biofuel demand for feedstocks such as soybean oil. Continued weak RIN values reduce the incentive to process fats and oils, which is bearish for feedstock demand.
