Info Sawit reports that the Indonesian Palm Oil Association sees 2017 as a potentially good year for the national palm oil industry. The outlook relies on continued biodiesel programmes in Indonesia and Malaysia.
The association also flagged risks including a proposed French tax, 3-MCPD contamination concerns, and deforestation criticism in the EU.
Sustained biodiesel blending would absorb palm oil supply and could support prices, but the trade risks cited could cap demand from importers.
