U.S. biomass-based diesel imports increase 65%, set new record in 2016 - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

U.S. imports of biomass-based diesel, including biodiesel and renewable diesel, rose 65% in 2016 to a record 916 million gallons. Rising Renewable Fuel Standard targets and the expired biodiesel blender's tax credit drove the increase.

Biodiesel imports alone nearly doubled to a record 693 million gallons.
