U.S. ethanol exports hit a record 218.7 million gallons in February, up 148% from January and about 50 million gallons above the prior record. Brazil was the top destination at 103.2 million gallons, and China rose to a 22-month high of 33.1 million gallons before a new additional 15% Chinese tariff was imposed.
Record export flows support ethanol demand and corn usage, but China's added tariff likely halts near-term shipments there, weighing on the export outlook for corn-based ethanol and its co-product DDGS.
