Blue Lake Milling, a CBH subsidiary, opened a 60,000-tonne-a-year oat processing plant in Forrestfield, Western Australia, mainly serving China. The plant will buy most of its oats from local WA growers.
New processing capacity increases local demand for Australian milling oats and supports export-oriented oat flows to China. The effect on feed oat prices is modest.
