STTC reports on the IDH study finding that the EU is still importing large volumes of forest-risk commodities, with only 30% or less of most commodities certified as sustainable. It says the Netherlands sources far more responsibly than Italy and Spain.
The gap between EU sustainable sourcing pledges and actual imports could push buyers toward certified supply, tightening availability of compliant soy and palm oil at a premium.
