Human Rights Watch commentary argues that proposed EU, UK and US laws restricting imports of commodities linked to deforestation should also protect Indigenous rights. The authors say the three markets drive about a quarter of deforestation linked to international trade.
They criticise the UK plan for covering only deforestation that is illegal in the producing country.
