Peru's Ministry of Production announced the cancellation of the first anchovy fishing season in the north-central region after Imarpe found no biological conditions for fishing. The resource will be reassessed in two to three weeks, and the ministry will consult the industry on employment impacts.
The cancellation removes near-term fishmeal output from Peru, the largest source of supply, supporting fishmeal prices and feed-protein demand for soymeal.
