The EU published an overview of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, adopted on 31 May 2023, which repeals the EU Timber Regulation and sets rules for placing cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya and wood products on the EU market. The regulation aims to reduce the EU's contribution to deforestation and related emissions and biodiversity loss.
Exporters of soy, palm oil, beef and other listed commodities face due-diligence and traceability costs that could segment supply toward compliant origins and shift premiums. The impact on feed-relevant soy and palm products is a medium, longer-dated driver.
