India has approved exports of 200,000 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to Malaysia under a government-to-government arrangement, bringing the fiscal-year total approvals to 2.04 million tonnes. Shipments will go through the National Cooperative Exports Ltd.
Case-by-case permits add modest supply to the world rice market but do not signal a full lifting of the ban, so the price effect is limited.
