Indian buyers are being offered crude palm oil at about $1,165 per tonne CIF for March delivery, against roughly $1,281 for crude soyoil, according to the Solvent Extractors' Association of India. Analysts expect Indian demand for palm to rebound because of this price discount.
A widening discount to soyoil should pull Indian import demand toward palm, supporting palm prices and reducing soyoil's share of the Indian edible oil market.
