The European Commission published a simplification review of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on May 4, 2026, as a report to Parliament and Council. The package accompanies updated guidance, FAQs, a draft delegated act on product scope and an updated information-system act.
The EUDR sets deforestation-free and due-diligence requirements for soy, palm oil, cattle, cocoa, coffee, rubber and wood entering the EU, so its scope and compliance costs shape EU import demand for these commodities. The review confirms the timetable, so the near-term price effect is limited.
