# Dinnissen launches Vertical Start-up approach to accelerate production line commissioning

*Dutch processing equipment specialist Dinnissen has introduced a Vertical Start-up methodology that pre-builds, tests, and validates complete production lines at its D-Innocenter facility before delivery, aiming to shorten on-site installation time and reduce commissioning risks for feed and food producers.*

Dinnissen has introduced a new methodology called Vertical Start-up, designed to shorten the installation and commissioning of complete production lines while reducing risks and unexpected delays, the company announced on 2 October 2026.

Under the approach, Dinnissen builds a customer's complete production line at its internal D-Innocenter facility, replicating the configuration that will ultimately be deployed on site. According to the company, all mechanical, electrical, and software components are tested and validated at that stage, and any deviations are addressed before shipment. The line is then dismantled into structured skids for transport; on-site work is limited to positioning and connecting those skids.

The company said the method addresses a persistent challenge in production line projects. "For many producers, installing a new line is a critical phase. Unforeseen complications and adjustment errors regularly cause delays, require additional manpower, and lead to downtime," the company stated.

Dinnissen reported that Vertical Start-up has already been applied in projects in the food sector, where customers supplied their own product for the test phase at the D-Innocenter. Process steps were run, settings refined, and software logic optimized during that pre-delivery cycle, resulting in fewer on-site disruptions and faster entry into production, according to the company.

Wouter Kuijpers, Managing Director of Dinnissen, described the rationale behind relocating the commissioning phase: "With Vertical Start-up, we move the customer's critical start-up phase to our D-Innocenter," said Kuijpers. He added that building and testing the complete line under realistic conditions gives customers upfront certainty about performance and functionality, making implementation more manageable and reducing risk during commissioning.

The announcement was published on Aquafeed.com as suppliers' news.
